Pallasite Meteorites are a rare type of meteorite. They consist of a combination of stone & metallic material, and also contain Olivine inclusions. The green variety of Olivine we know as Peridot.
The chemical formula for the meteorite itself isn’t consistent, nor can a clear Mohs hardness be determined, due to the variety of composition of the nickel-iron matrix. The Mohs hardness of Olivine is 6.5-7.

Pallasite Meteorites take their name from German zoologist & explorer, Peter Simon Pallas, who discovered the famous Krasnoyarsk meteorite in Russia in the mid-1700’s—the first Pallas-ite.
Pallasite Meteorites are pieces of asteroids broken off by impact before being fully formed. They are some of the most attractive meteorites and believed to have formed at the core-mantle boundary of asteroids. A pretty rare find, indeed!
